Taylor Swift: The moment she revealed her favorite songs and stole the show

Notification

Taylor Swift opened up about her favorite songs in one of the cutest and most candid moments on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” The pop star struggled to narrow down her list to her top five favorites, proving that even she has a “choice problem” when it comes to her songs.

Her appearance Taylor Swift on the popular talk show on the evening of December 10, 2025, did not go unnoticed. Stephen Colbert, known for his intelligent and subversive questions, asked the world-famous singer to name her five favorite songs. A seemingly simple question that ultimately proved difficult even for her.

Swift, with her trademark smile and self-mockery, admitted that it was hard to choose. She described how she feels pressured when trying to distinguish between her tracks, since each song represents a distinct period in her life. She said that for her, each album is like a personal diary, full of emotions, experiences and stories that she can't separate.

However, through this conversation, she managed to reveal at least one song that she considers a standout. The first on her list was, of course, “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” which is considered by many to be the most complete and moving piece of her career. The song, from Red (Taylor's Version), has been loved as little as possible and has managed to become something more than just music – it is almost a modern emotional manifesto for her fans.

Apart from that, he also mentioned “Mirrorball” from the album folklore, explaining that it reflects the vulnerable part of her personality, which she rarely lets show. She said that this song expresses her in moments of inner search, when she tries to find a balance between the artist and the ordinary woman who hides behind the spotlight.

Although she never finalized her top five, she admitted that she might need more time to evaluate them. She said she sees her music differently as she gets older, and that sometimes it takes years to fully understand what a song means to her. Stephen Colbert joked that she has “until May” to decide—a fitting comment, considering that’s when his own CBS run ends.

But the interview wasn't the only highlight of the evening. Before going on set, Taylor created a viral TikTok video with Colbert that went viral on social media. In the video, the singer is seen smiling, dressed in a fluffy winter coat, while her favorite song plays in the background. “Hey Stephen” by Fearless (Taylor's Version)When the camera zooms out, Stephen Colbert himself is revealed, lip-syncing to the lyrics, making for a hilarious moment. Taylor laughs and playfully says, "Hey Stephen," which immediately went viral.

This particular appearance was Taylor Swift's first on "The Late Show" since 2021. This time, however, she appeared more comfortable, relaxed, and authentic than ever. She seemed to enjoy the conversation, laugh at herself, and let the audience see a more real side of her, beyond the glitz and perfection that comes with it.

Swift also spoke about her new musical phase, saying she feels freer and more creative than ever. She said she no longer feels the need to prove anything, but simply enjoys the process of creation. For her, each song is an opportunity to capture an emotion, a moment, an image that is worth preserving.

The singer has now reached a stage where she combines success, experience and maturity. After the huge Eras Tour, which became a global phenomenon, seems to be choosing a more calm and personal pace of life.

The evening concluded with the two sharing moments of humor and artistic appreciation, confirming that Swift's relationship with the media has entered a new era. She is no longer just a record-breaking pop star, but an artist who has found a balance between her creative and personal life.

Taylor Swift has once again proven that she can turn a simple TV interview into a cultural event. While she didn't reveal her entire list of favorite songs, it's clear that "All Too Well" holds a special place in her heart — and, of course, in the hearts of her millions of fans around the world.

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” aired Wednesday night at 11:35 p.m. (New York time) on CBS and is now available for streaming via Paramount+.
