Rosalía reveals the challenges and joys of filming the new season of “Euphoria,” talking about her special bond with Alexa Demie and the friendship that developed between them. She also shares how she managed to balance music, acting, and preparing her new album “Lux.”
Η Rosalia is experiencing a period of absolute creative explosion. While preparing for the release of her fourth album “Lux,” the Spanish pop star also found herself participating in the filming of the highly anticipated third season of the series “Euphoria.” In a recent interview with Billboard, the singer spoke about how demanding the experience was and how much it changed her as an artist.
"It was really hard to do both," he admitted. "I had to record the album, oversee the production, check the mixes, all while preparing a character for the series. It was the first time I had to divide my mind between two such different worlds – music and acting. And that in itself was a huge challenge."
Rosalía revealed that, despite her international fame, she had to go through a real audition to get the role in “Euphoria.” With her trademark humor, she said: “Of course I auditioned, claro!” When filming finally began, Alexa Demie stood by her side and became the person she felt the most connected to. “She’s a very close friend of mine and she’s been very supportive. The way she approaches her role is so natural and inspiring. It’s really beautiful to see her work like that,” Rosalía said.

Between rehearsals, songs and scenes, Rosalía also found time to get to know Zendaya better. She admitted that she deeply admires her and that at first she was hesitant to talk to her so as not to interrupt her while she was working. “I admired her so much that I didn’t want to interrupt her for a minute. But when we were off set, she told me that she knew my music and had suggested the song “Malamente” to Sam Levinson. That made me really happy,” she said with a smile.
When asked who in the cast has the best musical taste, Rosalía laughed and replied, "Me of course!" And then, with sincerity, she added, "And Zendaya. She has great taste and loves music in an authentic way."
Her participation in “Euphoria” is not just another project for Rosalía. As she explained, it was an experience that made her see creation and expression differently. “Acting is a completely different art form. It puts you in a process of exploration that changes you. It’s not like when you write music — you have to get inside a character, understand their soul. This experience made me love the creative process even more.”

The pop star also revealed that she got to know herself better through “Euphoria.” The discipline of filming, the hours in the studio, and the need to give 100% to every aspect of the project made her discover a new side of herself. “I learned that I can do more than I thought. I can be a musician, an actor, a producer — without having to choose just one thing.”
At the same time, she spoke about how important the support of the cast was. "Everyone was wonderful to me. Alexa, Zendaya, everyone made me feel welcome. The atmosphere on set was family, with a lot of respect and genuine interest."

Rosalía has made no secret of the fact that she is now intrigued by the idea of continuing to act. In her interview with Billboard, she mentioned that she would like to collaborate with Quentin Tarantino or Sofia Coppola at some point. "These two directors inspire me deeply. I love the power of their stories and the way they create atmosphere. If a collaboration ever happens, it would be a dream."
Until the third season of “Euphoria” is released in 2026, fans can enjoy her new album “Lux,” in which Rosalía returns with a more mature and emotional sound. The album, she said, reflects exactly what she is experiencing at this time: a sense of freedom, creative intensity, and deep self-awareness.
She admits that no matter how difficult it was to combine these two major projects, she wouldn't change a thing. "It was exhausting, but also magical. I learned to trust the process, to let myself go with the flow. And in the end, I think I came out stronger and more complete than ever."
Rosalía, after all, is no longer just a pop star. She is an artist who is not afraid to experiment, take risks, and constantly redefine herself — whether through a song, a role, or a silent moment on the set of “Euphoria.”
