True friendship takes off with new mixtape that promises to shake up the pop scene
The unbeatable duo — who gave us the remix of Special in 2023 — it looks like she's joining forces again, this time for Lizzo's new mixtape. SZA even posted on her Instagram Story: "I'm working on a guest for bookie Lizzo's mixtape" accompanying the phrase with a heart.
The two's friendship began in 2013 and was built without lights and fanfare, with walks on Lake Michigan, wine and relaxing in the yard. As SZA says: "This is true friendship."
Lizzo: “Yes, I tried Ozempic but the solution was elsewhere”
Lizzo, on the other hand, just completed her fifth album. Love in Real Life and he doesn't hide it. "THE ALBUM IS FINISHED!", he wrote in a post, explaining how he managed to announce an appearance on the SNL, to perform emergency denervation and complete the disc.
However, not everything was rosy. The first single Still Bad received harsh – and unfair – criticism. But Lizzo didn't bite. "To say that my style is 'very optimistic for the post-pandemic era' is a lazy comment. I wrote the About Damn Time exactly for this time — and it worked!” he writes in X.
Lizzo stands up for her music, her black identity, and the right to joy. "I'm the continuation of Janet, Earth Wind & Fire, Aretha, Whitney... We own pop, we own rock. And I won't apologize for that."
SZA: From outsider to icon – How a love of mystery and difference changed her life
With new music, fiery responses, and a mixtape featuring SZA, Lizzo shows she's not just present — she's dominant. And her new era is more personal, more political, and more powerful than ever.
