The pop universe came together on Sunday night in Mexico City, when Katy Perry watched Lady Gaga's explosive show up close as part of her tour. Viva La Mayhem.
Little Monsters and KatyCats can put aside their supposed feuds: the two pop divas are friends and they proved it in the sweetest way!
Perry, who just a day earlier had completed her appearance in the city with her third sold-out concert Lifetime Tour, appeared at the Estadio GNP Seguros accompanied by her friend Lauren Glucksman and longtime collaborator Sarah Hudson. With a bottle of Modelo in hand and in impeccable spirits, Katy Perry did not stop singing and dancing throughout the show.
After the concert, she shared her excitement via Instagram Story:
"The show was AMAZING! The dress! The sand! Every moment was THE moment," she wrote, uploading a photo of Gaga in her stunning opening look. "I'm so proud of you and grateful we grew up together @ladygaga. I love you."
Perry also posted a video of Gaga's explosive performance on Abracadabra, while in another clip she dances non-stop with her friends. Among her posts was a touching moment with Gaga reading a letter in Spanish, holding a Mexican flag.
Of particular importance was the video he uploaded with Gaga performing the song. Perfect Celebrity, a track that comments on the toxicity of fame, with lyrics like:
“You love to hate me, I'm the perfect celebrity.”
The weekend was truly dedicated to pop music in Mexico City: Katy Perry successfully completed the first three stops of her tour, while Gaga enchanted the audience with her Viva La Mayhem on two consecutive nights.
Lady Gaga is gearing up for her next big stop: a free show on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro on May 3 and three nights in Singapore at the end of the month, before the US leg of the tour begins. Mayhem Ball on July.
Katy Perry, on the other hand, continues her Lifetime Tour with two shows in Monterrey, Mexico, and then prepares to return to the United States.
