Jade Thirlwall leaves the Little Mix stage behind and reveals her new creative dream — to write a musical inspired by the north of England and football
Η Jade Thirlwall looks set to move into a new, creative chapter in her career, this time away from the Little Mix stage and closer to musical theatre. The singer has revealed that she plans to write her own musical – and not just any musical, but one with a football theme.
In an interview on the Hits Radio Breakfast Show with Fleur East, Will Best and James Barr, Jade revealed that she is in a creative frenzy and is constantly jotting down ideas. “I would love to write a musical. I’m always coming up with ideas! A Little Mix musical should be done at some point, but I want to write something more… Geordie,” she said with a laugh. “I would like to write a good musical that has a football theme, with a song called ‘Shearer, Shearer…”.”
The singer, who was born in South Shields, does not hide her love for her hometown and for football. As she explained, the idea of the musical would not be just a story about matches and stadiums, but a work with social and emotional depth. “I think it would be a really nice way to integrate issues like LGBT into the plot,” she said. “Something like ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ but instead of Montagues and Capulets, we would have Sunderland and Newcastle!”
Jade Thirlwall's imagination seems to have no limits, while her idea for a musical that combines the passion of football with the acceptance of diversity certainly sounds like something that could stand on the West End stage.

Meanwhile, Jade revealed that she would love to collaborate with another pop star again — and on something really big. She said she dreams of touring with Ariana Grande, who is preparing to return to the stage with her new world tour. "I would love to support Ariana Grande on her tour more than anything. I know her, she's amazing and we get along really well. That would be great! There's no discussion yet, but let's put it out there to the universe!" she said enthusiastically.
Jade Thirlwall, after the great success with Little Mix, seems to be enjoying her new creative freedom. She has invested the last year in composing, writing and searching for a new artistic direction, away from the framework of a girl group. And judging by her ideas, it seems that her next step will be as bold as it is original.

The idea of a musical that mixes Northern England, football, music and a dash of queer culture is something only Jade could have come up with. Always known for her authenticity, humor and willingness to speak out about social equality issues, the former pop star seems determined to leave her mark on the theatre scene as well.
If her idea comes to fruition, it could be a musical full of energy, British humor, emotional climaxes, and unforgettable songs. And if she combines that with her voice and stage presence, then Jade Thirlwall could be one of the most unexpected hits of the coming year.
For now, Jade seems to be enjoying the brainstorming process and letting her creativity guide her. As she said, she's not interested in chasing fame but in creating art that has soul — and this time, it looks like she'll do it with a musical that marries passion, emotion, and British identity in the most unexpected way.
