48-year-old B claims to be the child of the legendary Queen frontman and shares her story.
A woman who claims to be his "secret daughter" Freddie Mercury spoke publicly for the first time, sparking a new wave of discussions about the personal life of the legendary frontman of QueenThe 48-year-old, who is introduced only as “B,” is co-authoring a new biography titled Love, Freddie: Freddie Mercury's Secret Life and Love, which is due for release in September. In the book, B claims that Mercury was her father, the fruit of a relationship that began in 1976 with the wife of a close friend of his.
According to her, her story is based on 17 handwritten diaries that, she claims, Mercury gave her shortly before he passed away in 1991. The announcement of the book last May caused strong reactions among those close to him, with several openly expressing their doubts.

Η Mary Austin, Mercury's former partner and close friend, who was living with him at the time B was supposedly born, said she could not imagine Freddie keeping such a secret. She stressed that she had never heard of the existence of a child or diaries and that if he had indeed had a child without knowing it, it would have surprised her deeply.
Ο Brian May, Queen guitarist, chose to remain neutral, while his wife Anita Dobson called the story "fake news." B, responding for the first time, stated that she was hurt by Austin's comments, emphasizing that the latter had not even read the book before expressing an opinion.
B describes her relationship with Mercury as "very close and loving", saying that he treated her as something precious. She says that she did not want to share her father with the rest of the world and that after his death she had to deal not only with her personal loss, but also with the constant public debate about his life. She says that at 15 she experienced grief on two levels: personal and collective, with millions of fans around the world mourning "Freddie" while she said goodbye to her "dad".
For three decades, she claims, she kept her story out of the spotlight, building her own life and family. She explains that she had no reason to speak out earlier, as she wanted to keep this relationship just for her and her loved ones.
