Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR give new directors a platform with 19 videos for “Somebody Loves Me”

Notification

Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR joined forces with Kai Cenat and presented 19 different videos for “Somebody Loves Me”, giving a platform to new directors to show their talent

Ο Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR proved once again that they know how to combine music, creativity and innovation. Their much-discussed track “Somebody Loves Me”, which was released in February on the project Some Exy Songs 4 U and climbed to No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100, it gained a whole new dimension through 19 different music videosThe idea came from the desire to give a platform to new and emerging creators, with Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR and popular streamer kai cenat to join forces and offer the opportunity to directors with different backgrounds to show their talent.

After reviewing thousands of proposals, the 19 most interesting ideas were selected, which were brought to life and presented through the platform. Drake RelatedThe result is a collection of visuals that give completely different interpretations to the same song, proving that music can take countless forms depending on the perspective of each creator.

Each video has its own aesthetic and narrative. The Jordan Sook presented Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR as puppets in a story full of luxuries, cruises and lifestyle images, with the Air Drake to make a cameo. The Dito Andres preferred the animated route, presenting the artists' mothers as guardian angels protecting them from above. The Kristen Lambie emphasized emotion, with a 70-year-old man returning to places where he experienced his great loves, marrying past and present in a nostalgic journey. The Edgar Daniel, on the other hand, chose a more meta approach: it organized a casting call and showed women auditioning for how they would appear in the song's video.

The variety of ideas demonstrates how wide the creative spectrum can be when new talent is given the opportunity to express itself. As Drake's website states: "Our finalists represent different levels of experience, with several being complete first-time filmmakers. We wanted to give new directors the opportunity to showcase their potential."

The idea started in May, when Kai Cenat commented that he would like to see his video. "Nokia" to go in a different direction. This gave rise to the collaboration with Drake, which evolved into the 19-video project. The winners were announced in June, while on August 27, all the videos were made available to the public.

This move isn't just another artistic idea; it's also proof that Drake knows how to use his platform to empower new talent. In an era where visual content is as important as music, the choice to give space to creators who haven't worked professionally before shows his intention to leave a broader footprint in the industry.

The “Somebody Loves Me” gained not just one, but 19 different narratives. From funny and provocative visuals to moving and artistic approaches, each version is a new look at the same melody. This project showed how multidimensional a musical creation can be and how it can inspire people from completely different backgrounds to give their own story.

Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR continue to prove that they remain pioneers, not only in music production but also in the way they connect with the audience and creators of the new generation.
