Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose surprises with his new graphic novel "Appetite For Destruction." A neon-noir cyberpunk universe where he becomes half-human, half-robot in a fight for humanity
Axl Rose, the enigmatic frontman of Guns N' Roses, has just revealed a project that few would have expected: his own graphic novel titled "Appetite For Destruction." The name, of course, refers to the legendary 1987 album that launched the band to the top of rock, but this time the story unfolds in a completely different universe, full of neon, cyberpunk images and dark atmosphere.
Axl joined forces with Sumerian Comics and Nathan Yocum, the publisher's co-founder, to create a story described as "a raw neon-noir delirium, half rock anthem, half cyberpunk prophecy." Yocum himself explained: "We've built a world where revolution is not just a way of life, but the only way to survive. It's Axl like you've never seen him before: on the front lines of a battle for the future of humanity."

The plot of the graphic novel takes place in a fictional version of Paradise City, filled with neon lights and mystery, where humans and robots try to coexist. Axl appears as a hybrid figure, half human and half robot, living on the fringes of society. His only refuge is the music of a singer who appears in an underground bar in the city. When she disappears under mysterious circumstances, Axl embarks on an adventurous quest that entangles him in a dark conspiracy that could determine the very fate of humanity.
The book's visuals were created by Italian artist Frank Mazzoli, who has already distinguished himself in the comics world with works such as "DUNE: Edge Of A Crysknife" and "Rebel Moon: Nemesis". The colors are by Antonio Antro, known for his dynamic way of adding tension to sci-fi stories, while the font and lettering are by Micah Myers, with experience in titles such as "American Psycho".
The graphic novel will be released in a 108-page hardcover edition, with the official release date set for January 2026. Fans can pre-order it now, and there will be five different editions. The basic edition will cost around $40, but the more premium packages include special collector's items, such as a signed bookplate by Axl Rose himself, a figure, a collectible coin, and other memorabilia that will delight hardcore fans.

For fans, it's a unique opportunity to see him through a different lens – not just as a rock icon, but as a mythical hero in a story that marries music with comic book fantasy.
Meanwhile, Guns N' Roses continue to fill stadiums around the world. Tomorrow, October 1st, they kick off the South American leg of their tour in Costa Rica, while over the summer they played some of Europe's most historic venues, including Wembley Stadium in London and Villa Park in Birmingham. The band remains active and tireless, with Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan leading a lineup that continues to make history.

The release of the graphic novel, combined with the tour, gives the feeling that Axl Rose wants to share with the world something bigger than music again. An artistic universe where lyrics, images and characters become one, giving fans a new experience.
For those who lived through the era when "Appetite For Destruction" blasted out of the speakers like a blast, the graphic novel is something of a journey into the past and the future at the same time. For younger people, it's the opportunity to get to know Axl through a fresh, sci-fi story that fits perfectly with the aesthetics of today's pop culture.
What's certain is that this new release will catch the eye not only of rock fans, but also of comic book and cyberpunk fans. Because Axl Rose may no longer be just the voice behind "Sweet Child O' Mine" or "Welcome to the Jungle" — he's now also the hero of a world that promises action, mystery and revolution.
