Angelos Dionysiou opened his heart about his father, Stratos Dionysiou, and the challenges that accompanied his name in his path in music. In an interview with the magazine "Loipon", the singer spoke about his own path and how he managed to carve out his own successful career, despite the constant comparisons with his great father.
"Carrying such a big name was not easy. The comparison with a giant like Stratos was inevitable, but I never saw it as an obstacle. I created my own musical path, having my own discography and my own distinctions. During the 80s, both my father and I achieved gold and platinum records at the same time - something unique in the Greek music scene. He released a gold record, and I did the same. He went platinum, and I did the same. Unfortunately, we did not get to be on stage together, although we recorded two duets," he said characteristically.
Angelos Dionysiou also remembered his father's last moments, referring to a valuable piece of advice he left him: to remain dedicated to his work and not to concern himself with others.
"My father's last moments are etched in my memory. He always advised me to focus on myself and my career, without letting the opinions of others influence me. Our mother raised us with very strong principles, knowing full well what kind of children she had," he said, moved.
