3 years of “Emails I Can't Send”: Sabrina Carpenter remembers the album that changed everything

Notification

Sabrina Carpenter celebrates 3 years since “Emails I Can't Send” and talks about the album that was the turning point in her career, leading her to Grammys and Billboard No.1

Sabrina Carpenter is looking back with emotion and gratitude as her album “Emails I Can't Send” marks three years since its release. On July 15, the pop star shared a touching message on her Instagram Story, expressing how important the project has been to her career and life. The album, released in 2022 via Island Records, marked the beginning of a new era of creativity, success, and personal rebirth for Carpenter.

She wrote: “3 years of my beloved emails. This album means so much to me and has been the gateway to many special moments I could not have imagined. I will never take for granted this chapter, what it has taught me, and how much it has brought me closer to each and every one of you. Thank you to those who sing with me. I love you forever!” This message, simple yet full of emotion, captures the essence of “Emails I Can't Send” as more than an album – as a personal diary that became a collective experience for her fans.

“Emails I Can't Send” was released in July 2022 and peaked at No. 23 on the Billboard 200, marking Carpenter's highest charting position at the time. The project spawned her first Billboard Hot 100 hits, including “Nonsense” and “Feather,” which showed that Sabrina was ready to make her mark on the pop scene in a way that transcended her past as a Disney Channel star.

She has admitted that to create the album she had to first “unlearn” and rediscover herself. As she wrote on the day of its release: “I had to kind of unlearn and relearn myself to make this album. It’s the one I’m most proud of so far in my life. I hope you listen to it and feel like we were together sharing secrets for an hour.”

The tour that followed, culminating in her appearance as the opening act for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, helped Carpenter expand her audience and establish herself as one of the most promising pop stars of her generation. In 2024, Sabrina released her sixth album, "Short n' Sweet," which became her first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and earned the young artist her first Grammys thanks to the hits "Espresso," "Please Please Please," and "Taste."

With her seventh album, “Man's Best Friend,” scheduled for release in August and the single “Manchild” already hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Sabrina Carpenter proves that “Emails I Can't Send” was just the beginning of an amazing journey. From an album that began as an inner monologue full of insecurities and emotions, she managed to build a pop universe that opened the doors to international success.

For Carpenter, “Emails I Can't Send” remains her most personal and defining work. It was not only a musical success but also a healing process that brought her closer to herself and her fans. She continues to express her gratitude for the audience that embraced the album and supported her on her journey to the top.

Her message to fans, full of emotion, shows the deep connection she has forged with her audience: “Thank you for sticking with me at every stage. I promise you the best is yet to come.”

With “Man's Best Friend” on the horizon, Sabrina Carpenter seems ready to continue her success streak and prove once again that she's here to stay.
