“Our Time” redefines EDM: Garrix, Guetta, Afrojack and Amél join forces in a historic collaboration

Notification

The ultimate dance anthem of the summer is here and sweeping the charts and festivals in record time

The EDM scene is undoubtedly experiencing one of the most exciting moments in its modern history. The release of “Our Time” marks the first time that four giants of dance music – Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Afrojack and the rising star Amél – have joined forces on a single that is already considered the ultimate soundtrack of the summer.

From the moment the collaboration was announced, social media was abuzz. Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter were filled with clips, fan edits, and countless theories about what the track would sound like before it was even released. The hype proved to be justified. “Our Time” not only topped the charts, but also united the dance community around a song that speaks to connection, freedom, and the power of the moment.

The story behind “Our Time” began in March 2024, backstage at Ultra Miami, when Garrix suggested they create a “festival anthem” together that would bridge classic EDM energy with more modern and emotional touches. Guetta, with his experience in global hits, Afrojack with his signature dynamic drops, and Amél, with his exceptional voice that has already become the talk of the town, immediately entered the studio.

The result was explosive: a track that manages to be both fresh and timeless. “Our Time” has all the makings of a classic EDM banger: a breathtaking drop, uplifting lyrics that speak to the listener’s heart, and production that showcases the style of each of the four creators without anyone overshadowing the other.

Amél’s voice is what gives the song its final boost. Youthful yet full of emotion, his performance unites generations of ravers and new fans who are now discovering EDM. “It was an honor to join three artists I’ve admired since I was a kid,” he told Billboard. “‘Our Time’ is more than a track. It’s an experience.”

The accompanying music video raises the bar even higher. Featuring footage from live performances at Ultra Miami, Ushuaïa Ibiza and Tomorrowland, the clip is a virtual journey to the world’s biggest dancefloors. The highlight is the foursome’s first joint performance on stage at Ushuaïa Ibiza, with over 10.000 fans going wild as “Our Time” is performed live for the first time.

On Spotify, the track surpassed 50 million streams in its first two weeks, while on TikTok it already has over 200.000 videos using its sound. From dance challenges to aesthetic edits, “Our Time” has become a viral phenomenon.

Garrix said: “We wanted to make something that people felt like they owned. ‘Our Time’ is for every person who has ever stood on a dancefloor and felt like that moment was their whole life.” Guetta added: “Our chemistry was incredible. We didn’t just make a song – we created a celebration of EDM culture.”

“Our Time” is already nominated for Best Dance Track at the 2025 MTV EMAs and Spinnin' Records predicts it will be the #1 dance hit of the summer. Music industry analysts note that such collaborations are bringing EDM back to the level of the big pop releases of the 2010s, bringing back the era when tracks like “Animals” or “Titanium” dominated everywhere.

For fans, “Our Time” isn’t just a song – it’s a reminder of the magic that can be created when the greatest of the genre collaborate without egos, letting the music do the talking.
